Our 12 Step Finishing Process
Where Good Enough Isn't
  1. For proper surface profile, all hot dip galvanized parts are Brush-Off Sandblasted to SSPC-SP-7, commonly referred to as “sweep blasting”.
  2. 130 F degreaser in high-pressure spray for approximately 60 seconds.
  3. Fresh water rinse in high-pressure spray for 30-60 seconds.
  4. 130 F Iron Phosphate in high-pressure spray for 60-90 seconds.
  5. Fresh water rinse in high-pressure spray for 30-60 seconds.
  6. Seal rinse in high-pressure spray for 30-60 seconds.
  7. De-Ionized water rinse for approximately 60 seconds
  8. Dry-off. 10 minutes at 250 F for 10 minutes.
  9. Application of Rohm & Haas’s Zinc Rich Epoxy Primer P/N 13-7004 applied permanufacturers recommended application. Gel only (not full cure)
  10. Polyester Powder topcoat application per manufacturer’s recommended application method.
  11. Normal cure is 375 F (part temperature) for 12-15 minutes
  12. All jobs Impact Tested to ASTM D2794 and Adhesion Tested to ASTM D3359.
